I might publish the latest update for the player written in AS2 which will add some new features before abandoning it for the new version written in AS3 which will be based on the greensock framework. In the meanwhile over three thousands downloads were deployed for the player, which is pretty much a big success considering I didn’t do any advertising at all and the player were only an experiment.

I moved my business on activeden where I published already a few components which are selling like piece of cake. If you’re interested you can dig inside my portfolio there. The other sister sites were taken down and redirected to the pages on activeden which should be more confortable and saver for now until I find some time to create a landing page for all the components.

Check it out, as it will be joined together with further modules all written in AS3. More components are coming, including the brand new FLV player Lite which will be completely rewritten and redesigned. A free copy for anyone who bought it here will be dispatched as soon the beta has been finished. Stay tuned!

Though, I do care about the feedbacks and complains. That’s why I’m already working on a new, parallel version of the player written in AS 3.0 which will contain all missed features and should, hopefully, be cutting edge compared to other players.

As a reward for those who already bought FLV player Lite, I’ll send a copy of this new player for free. If you are planning to buy it you can do it at any time and you’ll get the new player as soon it’s published also for free.  There’s no ETA for now as I’m having little health troubles in these days and can’t work on it, but I’ll publish soon a beta version.

Though, it won’t replace the existing version but it will be provided as an advanced version meant to satisfy hardcore users who need features which aren’t now included in the current player.

As usual, everyone who bought FLV player Lite here has already received the latest version. I submitted it to the other stores already. You just need to have some patience before it will be available for download, it doesn’t depend on me as every site has it’s own approval process with their own policies.

The next update won’t be published too soon, as I consider it a good point of arrival for now. I’m getting a lot of feedback in the latest days about ideas for new features to add to the player. It has become popular in a short time and I didn’t expect such a good result.

Anyway you’ll also notice the player on FlashDen is a bit different from the one provided here. It’s because I had some troubles during the approving. It seems like they didn’t like the audio controls as they looked too apple-like, thus I had to simplify the audio controls. I can’t do anything for their policies, so it’s up to you to choose where to get FLV player Lite.

Though, if you really want to support the development just get it here. More features will come with the version written in AS3 but I don’t have much freetime to work on it and I’m not earning all that money to leave some project behind.

So please, be so kind and spread the word if you are satisfied. If you have some complains or proposal about the player, write me a mail on info@flvplayerlite.com and I will try my best to improve the player by adding your opinion on my todolist.

During this downtime all reported bugs where fixed and I switched directly to Version 1.7 which introduces only a new hidden feature and is mostly packed with bug fixes.

Can’t remember the size of the video you just have encoded? Don’t worry! Now you can choose to simply delete the vidWidth and vidHeight vars, FLV player Lite will detect that nothing has been set up and will automatically scan the metadata of the linked video for the original width and height. Even aspect ratio will be kept this way.

You still have to specify the div dimensions in your html document, though.  Meta data of your videos is printed in the trace report of the flash sources, which comes handy for authoring.

The seekbar contains also a semitransparent bar which shows the loading status. Other features has also been added:  auto loop support and thumbnail reflections for the playlist. Now you can also decide if your videos should loop at the end.
